We are Jake and Ellie Hardy...

and as we said earlier, we've loved Lake Burton for a long time.  

We love the cool water on a hot summer day, the magnificent fireworks on the 4th of July, the dramatic sunsets over the rolling mountains, the time spent with friends and family on lazy afternoons; and most importantly we love the sense of community you feel when you are part of Lake Burton.

That's a lot of things to feel about one place.

So we asked ourselves, how can we capture all that we feel about the Lake in one symbol?  We thought long and hard (and worked with some really talented people) to create the Burgee design you see here.

What is a Burgee? 

A burgee is: "a distinguishing flag, regardless of its shape, of a recreational boating organization. In most cases, they have the shape of a pennant." We decided on this specific shape because a "plain ol' flag" just wouldn't do; the symbol for Lake Burton needed to demonstrate that our community is a very special group of people.
